A thief was caught by mob at Meru Town and beaten up to a great extent. The incident happened in broad daylight on Friday.
Residents complained that the town was getting too loaded with such incidents of theft and robbery.
This thief probably thought that he had made his day by laying his hands on somebody’s bag, but he was in for an unpleasant episode of his life.
Reportedly, the locals nabbed the thief and then beat him black and blue and knelt him down.
Police reached the scene and rescued him from the mob and following to his information they went to search for a stolen mobile phone.
According to an eyewitness, the suspect should have been murdered because he would continue to steal once he is released from prison.
“The rest of the suspects should take a lesson from him, as their days are numbered,” said an eyewitness.
“I believe he was the suspect captured on CCTV stealing a phone from a nearby shop. He should be apprehended and detained,” said an eyewitness.
An eyewitness said that thieves should stop stealing from shop owners because their businesses are struggling.
She praised the members public for its continued efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.
