Grisly attacks on farm animals fuels fear among residents

Must read

Locals of Chogoria ward were left panicking and scrambling for help after a bizarre attack on farm animals left at least 5 sheep dead.

The presence of a dangerous wild animal has led to heightened fear in the area. According to locals, the wild animal managed to kill more than 10 sheep.

A resident said: “The KWS claimed ownership of the animal and said that it would be found. They promised to deliver a trap to us.

We went into the forest to look for it, but we didn’t find it. We’re not going to give up until we find it. We’ve set a 7-day deadline for the KWS to respond, and if they haven’t, we’ll go to their offices to find out what they’re doing,” she said.

“I received a phone call from a Mugijo resident informing me that a wild animal had killed 5 of his sheep. I contacted the KWS, who informed me that not only Mr. Nyaga’s animals had been attacked, but that 5 other homes had also been affected, and that more than 10 sheep had been killed.

We wonder how residents will continue to rare sheep only to be killed by wild animals later on.

I implore the KWS to ensure that wild animals return to the forest because residents have filled out forms requesting compensation for the loss of their animals to wild animals and have never been paid.

I will follow up until I am certain that KWS has assisted the residents of Chogoria Ward.

I’m curious as to why the installed KWS electric fence isn’t working. We’re going back to the forest to hunt for the wild animal that killed the sheep and make it is dead.

We will ensure that when women go to their tea farms and children go to the shops, they are not afraid of being attacked,” The MCA told BaiteTV
