DCI Seeking Information About an Armed Robbery and Attempted Carjacking

Must read

A dangerous and armed criminal gang is being pursued by detectives after they carjacked a Ruaka resident on Friday night.

The victim had pulled over near the apartment’s gate at Ruaka One River Apartments, unaware that a gang of three attackers was waiting for him, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The driver’s window was shattered with an iron rod as the gates opened, and two shots from a revolver were fired into the air in an effort to subdue him.

He was able to push his way into the parking lot, but before he could leap out and flee to safety, the trio apprehended him and roughed him up before stealing his car keys and phone.

DCI detectives based in Kiambaa launched a manhunt for the suspects after receiving the report.

After being vandalized, the car was discovered abandoned in Kagongo village.

The three suspects are thought to be part of a larger criminal gang operating in Kiambu County, according to detectives.

They’ve been posing as customers to harass taxi drivers, then turning on them in remote locations and vandalizing their cars.

” Some members of the syndicate have been convicted and charged in court previously.” DCI remarked

Kenyans have been warned about the rising crime rate by the DCI.
