Prof. Margaret Kobia, the Cabinet Secretary for the Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs on 12 May 2022 presided over the disbursement of Affirmative Funds from Women Enterprise Fund worth over Ksh. 29 Million to women beneficiaries and a further Ksh. 10 Million to Times U Sacco in Tigania West, Meru County.
Since its inception, WEF has disbursed Kshs. 21.3 Billion to over 1.8 Million beneficiaries countrywide, through various loan products.
“I am happy to note that we will soon introduce new individual loan products under the Women Enterprise Fund, which will be launched into the market by July 2021,” she said.
“These new products include Chama Loans, Business Loans, Asset Financing Loans and Kilimo Loans, all of which are meant to enable more opportunities for women to access finance for business development,” she said.
