Man Allegedly Beaten Mercilessly By MCA

Must read

A middle-aged man is requesting assistance from the government after being severely beaten by Abogeta East MCA Mwirigi Karinga and his accomplices while at the Primier Hotel in Nkubu Market in Meru county.

Our attempts to obtain clarification from Hon. Mwirigi Karinga bore no fruit because his phone was turned off when we tried to call him.

According to the victim, the altercation began when he questioned the Meru County Assembly member about the over Ksh 60 million already allocated to the Abogeta East Ward.

“Mr. Mwirigi Karinga came in with unidentified people and tore my shirt on the night of May 22 while I was drinking tea at Primier hotel with Mr Mbaai, the driver of Miungi, an aspirant candidate in 2022.

Mr Mugambi.

“He was armed with a knife and threatened to kill me. Those who accompanied him gave me a thorough beating.

“I asked Mr Mbaai to accompany me to the police station to report the incident and was given an OB Number.

“I believe I had internal bleeding because I spat saliva mixed with blood while they thrashed and threw me down.

“I went to the hospital and an X-ray scan was taken. Am waiting to see what happens next,” said Mugambi.

Mr Mbaai alleged he saw the MCA with a knife and said it was extremely inappropriate for a leader to be accompanied by a large group of people who were going to attack one person. He doubted if the victim would be alive if the attack occurred during the night.

“I don’t think a human being should be beaten the way I saw him being beaten. Dennis Mugambi, alias’saba,’ was punched in the chest with a fist, and blood began to flow from his mouth. I asked him not to ingest any blood.

“When Mugambi left the hotel to take a phone call, the attack occurred, and when I attempted to intervene, I was pushed back. Three people attacked him.

“Three people attacking one person is a murder case. Mugambi was attacked and broke some flowers that were on the scene.

“I demand justice for Mugambi, and it does not reflect well to the leader who attacked him. He should present a positive image to the public and avoid making distinctions between the rich and the poor. We should also not live in anger in this life.

“I accompanied Mugambi to the police station to report the incident. At the hospital, an X-ray scan of his chest was performed we are waiting for the results,” he said.
