At least 10 killed in Kamikaze bombing in Mogadishu

Must read

At least 10 people have been killed and more than 20 others injured when a suicide bomber struck an army base in Mogadishu, Somali General Yousuf Rage, head of the Somali Armed Forces, said on Tuesday.

The victims “hoped to join the army,” the general told a radio station in the country.

Ali Hassan, a police spokesman, later gave the German Agency an even heavier toll, with 18 dead and nearly 30 injured.

The al-Qaeda-linked jihadist group al-Shabab (“the Youth”) claimed responsibility for the attack on Andalus radio station, its propaganda organ. He claimed that more than 40 people were killed and fifty others were injured.

The victims had enrolled in a military training program backed by the Turkish government.
