A 2.5-year-old boy, whose disappearance had sounded the alarm across the country, was found safe and sound last night in the rural area of Prensa-a-Vegia in central Portugal, local authorities said.
The little boy, who was missing for 35 hours, had walked many kilometers and was found dehydrated but in good condition.
Little Noah was found in the same area where about 150 people were looking for him with the help of police with specially trained dogs and supported by drones with a thermal camera.
The little boy reportedly disappeared early yesterday morning when his Portuguese mother and older sister were still asleep.
The state-run television station RTP reported that the boy had apparently left his house to look for his Belgian father, who works in a neighboring field.
The little boy was found without his clothes with scratches on his feet and was taken to the hospital for follow-up.
The police investigation will continue in order to determine whether Noah was fasting for 36 hours and without water and if he walked about 10 kilometers alone.
