Kiraitu’s recently released book is of no help to a resident of Meru. He served as an MP for South Imenti for ten years but has nothing to show for it but a troubling pattern of insulting his political opponents.
He served in former President Kibaki’s cabinet for ten years as a minister, but he has never revealed what he did to assist a resident of Tigania, Igembe, and the Meru child.
He never presented a motion on the floor of the Senate to support Meru farmers and enhance the market for maize, potatoes, cabbages, and banana harvests during his five years as a senator.
However, after four years in office, he published a book. In his book, he claims that he doesn’t recognize Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza as the Meru County women rep.
I recall voting in the last elections for Meru County’s top three seats where Kiraitu Murungi was elected Meru governor, Mithika Linturi was elected senator, and Hon. Kawira Mwangaza was elected Meru County women rep.
Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza is recognized as the Meru County Women Rep in the National Assembly of Kenya. Kiraitu claims in his book that he does not know if Hon Bishop Kawira Mwangaza is the Meru County Women Representative.
The question Meru residents should ask is whether it is they who are being insulted or Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza, whom they elected. A governor who was elected by the same people cannot claim that he doesn’t recognize another elected leader.

In his book, Kiraitu disrespected the people of Meru by portraying them as useless because they elected a leader he does not recognize. Because Kiraitu claims to be learned and to have a master’s degree in law, I challenge him to come forward and show us the leader he recognizes as the Meru County women rep.
Kiraitu is aware that Hon Kawira Mwangaza was elected with a majority of votes cast in the 45 wards and 9 constituencies. Let him know that she is the current Meru County Women Rep.
In his book, Kiraitu insults Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza, which does not benefit the people of Meru. Kiraitu should have told us what he has done for the people of Meru in the last four years with over Ksh 40 billion.
However, after four years, all he has to offer for the people are insults directed at Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza, when in reality he is insulting the Meru people.
It is wrong to claim that she is a self-proclaimed bishop. Her Baite Family Fellowship church has a large congregation that attends her sermons. Kiraitu should understand that Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza was chosen by God and that it cannot be taken from her.
Kiraitu should have looked for another way to attack her rather than making unfounded and baseless claims.
He should have written about his own track record if he hadn’t seen hers. It demonstrates unequivocally that Kiraitu’s book was nothing more than propaganda aimed at political opponents.
