Is Jumwa a politically dead woman walking?

Must read

ODM MPs have warned Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa that her political star is on the verge of extinction after she decided to join Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking in the Dabaso area, Kilifi County on Tuesday, they stressed that ODM is still the most popular in the county despite Ms Jumwa insisting it has lost popularity.

“I want to tell those leaders who say ODM has faded here in Kilifi are deceiving themselves. As the deputy chairman of ODM here in Kilifi I am confident that even by 2022 the Kilifi government will still be ODM. Because this party has the best vision, let them shout they are wasting their time, ”said Mr Mwambire.

Ms Jumwa has announced her intention to run for governor of Kilifi next year through the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

The leaders were at the funeral of Japhet Kabenge Mung’aro who is the uncle of Assistant Devolution Minister Gideon Mung’aro.

Mr Mung’aro has indicated his intention to join the ODM to run for governor next year, and is expected to fight for the party’s ticket against Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi.

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed urged Kilifi residents to ask themselves what progress Ms Jumwa has made in the Malindi constituency since she rebelled against ODM, compared to the remaining MPs within the party.

“You know that Aisha, I feel sorry for her. You cannot rotate the waist without any benefit, that is a great loss to the people of Kilifi, ”said Mr Mohamed.

The funeral was attended by ODM Leader Raila Odinga along with other politicians including Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir, Jubilee Special Senator Christine Zawadi among others.
