” In the last few hours, there have been incidents near an advanced location in Givat Eviatar, south of Nablus. “Hundreds of Palestinians threw stones at Israeli soldiers, who retaliated by using insurgent means,” an Israeli army spokesman told AFP.

The Israeli army said two of its men were slightly injured and taken to hospital as a precaution.

Jewish settlers settled on a hill near Nablus in early May and established the arbitrary settlement of Eviatar without obtaining permission from the Israeli authorities.

After weeks of tension and unrest , an agreement was reached with the settlers, who temporarily left the area, leaving their demolished homes there, until the Israeli Ministry of Defense examines the ownership of the occupied territories and determines that they can be considered Israeli. .

If the ministry decides in favor of the settlers, they will be able to settle permanently. While waiting, the army has deployed a guard.

The West Bank is a Palestinian territory occupied by Israel since 1967 where, under international law, all Jewish settlements in it are considered illegal. More than 470,000 Israeli settlers live in the West Bank today.
