Kibwana lauded Raila as a development leader, noting that their goals and thought processes were similar.

“Raila Odinga, leader of ODM, and I think in line with the goal of moving Kenya forward. We want real change and create a country ready to defend its citizens.”Kibwana said.

Kibwana made the announcement following lengthy discussions with leaders of the Southeast Branch Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party on Wednesday, April 14.

“Working together is not a difficult task, but I can ask that since I am working with a lot of other people, I should sit down with them and discuss the move,” Kibwana said.

An ODM official present at the meeting stated that the party was actively seeking the leader due to his track record of development in Makueni.

He also demanded that Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and his counterpart from Kitui, Charity Ngilu, be contacted.

“We want him to come and work with us. If he wants to come with his own party or join the ODM, it’s his choice,” she said.
