A car bomb had exploded at an Iraqi police recruiting center at Kisak, west of Kabul.
“A bomb targeted a mosque in the Afghan capital on Sunday, leaving” a number of civilians dead, “a Taliban spokesman said, according to Al Jazeera.
The Taliban spokesman did not say exactly how many civilians were killed or who was behind the attack. The blast occurred at the entrance of the mosque.
The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of the Eid Gah Mosque in Kabul, where a memorial service was being held for the mother of Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast, but ISIS has been carrying out bloody attacks across the country since the Taliban took power.
