Authorities in Germany have launched a manhunt to arrest the perpetrator after an incident, with shootings in the town of Eskelkamp, during which two people were fatally injured.
- According to the Bild newspaper, citing local police sources, the perpetrator was shooting in an “amok situation” in an area of North Rhine-Westphalia. His motives remain unknown so far.
The shooting occurred in the city center, about 80 kilometers west of Hanover, late Thursday morning, and is being treated as a double homicide.
One of the victims was a woman and the other a man , according to the Tag 24 network. The murder took place inside a house, according to the DPA news agency.
The city of Espelkamp has a population of 25 thousand people.
