Angry Mob Beats Bag Snatching Thief

Must read

A bag snatching thief in Meru County near Meru Polytechnic met his Waterloo when he was caught by an angry mob after he attempted to snatch the handbag of a lady.

During the robbery, the suspect attempted to snatch the handbag before trying to flee the area on a motorcycle driven by another suspect who managed to escape. After failing to snatch the lady’s bag, the obviously irate mob of angry Meru Polytechnic students surrounded the suspect, pounced on him and beat the living daylight out of him as they ordered him to name his accomplices.

The police arrived on scene as the thief was being beaten, dispersed the mob and took him to the police station. According to a police report, the suspect was identified as Dennis Muchui, 25, a resident of Gitimbine in Meru County.

The incident occurred at a time when there have been numerous reports of thieves stealing handbags, pinning men to the ground, and robbing phones and money.

People have become more vigilant as a result of the numerous cases in which thieves have penetrated the Villages, snatching people’s belongings and escaping on motorcycles.

Pickpocketing thieves have evolved and are now robbing people and fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
