According to reports, Harry Kane has had enough of Tottenham and wants to leave, with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Real Madrid among the clubs interested in signing him.
The 27-year-old is having one of his best seasons yet, with 19 goals and 13 assists in 28 Premier League appearances this season, but Spurs have struggled despite their talisman’s heroics.
Jose Mourinho’s side is currently three points adrift of fourth place and the final Champions League spot, and they were held to a draw against Newcastle last time out, despite Kane’s brace.
The north London club also exited the Europa League in humiliating fashion, squandering a two-goal first-leg lead against Dinamo Zagreb, though they could still end the season with a trophy in the Carabao Cup.
That, however, will not be enough to keep Kane happy at the club, with The Athletic reporting that the England captain will seek a transfer if the club fails to secure Champions League football.
The striker, who came through Spurs’ academy, has grown “frustrated” with the club’s lack of progress and is looking for a new home.
Manchester United and Manchester City are the two clubs most likely to offer Kane a move away from Tottenham, but a move abroad is also a possibility, with Real Madrid and PSG – now managed by former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino – ready to enter any transfer battle.
Both Manchester clubs are looking for a new forward and have been linked with Erling Haaland, but if signing the Premier League’s top scorer becomes a realistic possibility, they will shift their focus to Kane.
While Spurs insist Kane is not for sale, The Athletic claims the club could be persuaded to let him go if a massive nine-figure offer is made. While chairman Daniel Levy had hoped for a fee close to the £198 million PSG paid for Neymar four years ago, his price tag in the coronavirus pandemic would be closer to £140 million.
Kane maintains good relationships with both Levy and manager Jose Mourinho, but he is desperate for silverware to match his goal tally and is beginning to believe that he needs to leave north London to achieve his goals.
