BIZARRE INCIDENT: MAN DIGS UP GRANDFATHER’S GRAVE

Must read

Residents of Kaero village in Igembe, in Meru County are in rude shock after a man dug his grandfather’s grave.

Philip Kinoti told BaiteTv that since he was a child, his late grandfather looked after him. He said that before his death, he was able to complete his education peacefully and without difficulty.

“Throughout my childhood, my alleged biological parents rejected me. When I sought assistance from either of them, I was directed to the other. It was only then that I realized I was on my own and that my grandfather was the only one who could help me,” he said.

“When I reached the age of majority and completed my education, I approached my presumed biological parents, requesting the right to inherit so that I could farm and support myself,” he said.

“When I confronted my alleged father, he claimed to be frail and had no control over family property. He directed me once more to my alleged mother, who was unable to assist me,” he said.

“After much thought, I decided to dig up my grandfather’s grave in order to ‘inquire’ from him and claim my rightful inheritance. My alleged biological father, according to me, is alive but dead to me because he cannot make family decisions,” he said.

“My grandmother forbade my father from inheriting any family property. Also, In my opinion, my alleged biological mother is my sister. In order to inherit what is rightfully mine, she forged her identity to match the surname of my alleged father, Mansa Maore,” he added.

Kinoti’s mother told BaiteTv that the son refuses to be admitted to a mental hospital and claims that even if we do admit him, he will have to inherit land at some point.

Romano Mwenda Muchiri, the assistant chief, said that he had received word that Kinoti was digging up his grandfather’s grave, and after hearing his side of the story, he believed he is not mentally ill, but rather seeking attention.

He said that he would arrange a meeting with the family elders and the chairman of the antuambui community to look into the matter.

Kinoti’s grandmother urged the elders of the family and community to look into the matter because his grandson accused her of killing his father who is alive.
