One is in critical condition – The attack may be due to clearing accounts
Panic erupted after an incident that took place this morning in the center of Trieste, in via Carducci, where shots were fired, injuring eight people, one of whom is in serious condition.
According to Italian media, the shots were fired near a city bar. The motive for the action has not yet been clarified, but may be related to a clearing of accounts between two groups of Kosovars and Albanians over labor issues.
After a first fight, the two groups, consisting of a large number of people, attacked each other with sticks and chairs. Then others started firing.
The area is currently cordoned off by police. Earlier, a manhunt followed with a shot, while two armed men were stopped and arrested at the entrance of the highway.
