A boda boda operator was murdered and his motorcycle stolen by suspects he had ferried in Gachanka in Meru County
The body was found dumped in a nearby bush by residents.
The deceased was killed before the suspects escaped using his motorcycle.
According to a resident, the victim was killed at 10:00 pm.
When the incident occurred, she heard a loud scream and it is said that the thieves escaped in the direction known as bypass.
“There is a nearby bush near where the deceased was killed, and we had asked the owner to clear it,” said the resident.
“During the day, children are raped along the road as you can hear screams oftenly,” she said.
“A girl was recently murdered, and her clothes were dumped in a nearby location. I plead with the government to have mercy on us and ensure that the road is adequately secured,” said Kaari Mutwiri,” another resident.
“We recommend that a light mask be installed or that the Chiefs intervene because the road has become unbearable.
“The thieves who commit the crimes have no fear of God. The suspects who stole the motorcycle before killing the man have yet to be identified,” she said.
“My question is, why are there people loitering around at night despite the curfew being in place?,” asked another resident.
“Because a man can be killed at 10 p.m., it appears that the cap is not in place. The deceased was the owner of the stolen brand-new motorcycle and been identified. He is from Ng’onyi.
“We demand that the nearby bush near where the deceased was killed be cleared on a regular basis,” she said.
“We are in mourning because of the deceased and feel neglected because this area is so remote,” said another resident.
“The road has become impassable, especially after 7 p.m., when we are returning from work.
“We’re wondering why we got up so early to vote,” she said.
“I’d like to express my concern about Kathima’s security,” said Ann Kathambi, another resident.
“At 7 a.m. in Kathima, you could be raped or have your belongings stolen.
“Cases of insecurity are on the rise, as the young generation who own motorcycles are being followed and their motorcycles stolen before they are killed.
“As an example, consider the incident you witnessed today.
“We request that the authorities install a lighting mask,” she said.
“We’ve heard that someone had been killed, so we came to see for ourselves,” said Mutua, another resident.
“The deceased’s brother was able to identify him and was present when the body was taken to the morgue,” he said.
