Irate bodaboda operators of Meru county on Wednesday torched a lorry after a bodaboda operator was killed.
The lorry driver hit the bodaboda operator on Meru-Nanyuki road near Nkunga forest.
The bodaboda operator died on the spot. Following the incident, bodaboda operators barricaded the road and set the lorry on fire.
The motorcycle and lorry were taken to Meru Police Station yard for inspection.
According to an eyewitness, no driver is superior to another, and drivers should respect one another on the road.
Meanwhile, a lorry burst into flames along the busy Eldoret – Malaba Highway after the driver of the lorry lost control of the vehicle.
Residents residing along the highway watched helplessly as the raging flames ate up the lorry before the firefighters responded to the call of alarm.
What led to the loss of control by the driver of the lorry has not yet been established.
