Residents of Gaceige-Kaaga in Meru county found a man’s waterlogged body with obvious bite marks to his legs, arms and face from the Gaciege River on April 27.
According to the residents, the exact cause of death had not been determined. There were obvious signs of trauma and the head seemed to have been hit with a blunt object but medical examiners had yet to check the corpse.
BaiteTv had not been informed that the man had been reported missing but residents alleged he was in the water long before he was spotted, probably more than a week.
One of the residents said it was difficult to determine the man’s age, but he estimated he was anywhere from 30 to 40 years old although formal identification is yet to take place.
