A powerful explosion was heard in Dubai tonight, in the United Arab Emirates, according to eyewitnesses told Reuters and a correspondent of the French Agency.
According to a tweet from the government press service, a fire broke out on a cargo ship that was anchored in the port of Jebel Ali.
Dubai Civil Protection Forces are working to extinguish the fire, the agency added, stressing that there are currently no reports of injuries.

Two fire engines and other emergency vehicles appeared to be heading south of Dubai on the main highway leading to Abu Dhabi, a Reuters correspondent said.
At least three residents in the area said windows and doors of buildings shook due to the blast.
