An angry Thimangiri resident beat and nearly burned a man for allegedly being a common chicken thief.
The man is said to have been caught with stolen chicken more once. Residents claim he has been stealing chicken from homesteads in Thimangiri.
“The petty thief escaped lynching after being aided by bodaboda riders. I suspect they are working with the thief because this is the second time the thief has been caught stealing and escaped being lynched. We know the names of all the riders who aided his escape,” said an area resident.
Another resident said: “He stole my four-kilogram chicken. His final day would have been today because i was on the verge of chopping him up. People should avoid stealing in their neighborhood because it will be easy to identify them.”
