Popular Brazilian singer Marilia Mendoza was killed in a plane crash. The star of “sertanejo”, one of the most popular music genres in the country, the 26-year-old singer lost her life in the crash of a small taxi plane in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.
The singer’s producer, her uncle and the two pilots of the plane were also killed in the accident, Mendoza’s agent announced. According to the police, the possible cause of the accident was the collision of the aircraft with an antenna.
Many Brazilian celebrities reacted with emotion to the news of Mendoza’s death, which began her career in 2014 and she was one of the first women to be introduced to “sertanejo”, a traditionally male-dominated musical genre.

Extremely popular in Brazil, Mendoza had 39 million Instagram subscribers and 22 million on its YouTube channel.
Shortly before the crash, she posted a video on social media showing her boarding the plane and her meal in it, announcing ” a weekend full of shows”.
