On Tuesday, April 14, Cs Fred Matiang’i announced the end date of the curfew imposed in five counties: Nairobi, Machakos, Nakuru, Kajiado, and Kiambu.

The Cs stated in a revised Gazette notice that the ordinance would remain in effect until May 29, 2021.

“This order will apply during the hours of darkness between eight in the evening and four in the morning from March 29, 2021 and will remain in force for a period of sixty days,” reads an excerpt from the statement.

During the curfew period, the Cs stressed that there would be no public gatherings, processions, or movements, either alone or in groups.

Those who have been authorized in writing by a police officer in charge of policing in a county or a police officer in charge of policing in a division / sub-county, as well as the essential service providers listed, are exempt.
