Following detailed forensic and intelligence-led investigations, DCI detectives have arrested and established that a suspect, Peter Mwangi Njenga alias Ole Sankale, interacted and spent quite some time with the deceased National Land Commission (NLC) official Jennifer Wambua, at the location where the body was later discovered.
According to the investigations unit, it was also established that the area is often visited by pilgrims for spiritual intentions. Detectives further established that the suspect preyed on the deceased as she prayed before he made his move to sexually assault her and strangle her to death.
“The search was intensified and through the previous finalized criminal files, detectives were able to establish similar crimes committed in replica signature style and manner of subjection to torture and rape,” noted the investigations unit.
“Detectives found several other reported cases of the same nature committed by the same suspect and in particular within the same vicinity where he committed the crime. The suspect was found to have had several previous criminal records,” added the investigations unit.
