DCI’s Anti Terror Police Officers to benefit from intensive program

Must read

DCI’s Anti Terror Police Officers are set to benefit from an intensive counterterrorism training program, courtesy of a project developed by the European Union.

Representatives from Spanish Police who are spearheading the program led by the project director Javier Hernandez, met the DCI director George Kinoti this afternoon, to discuss the finer details of the program.

While thanking the European Union through Mr Hernandez, for identifying DCI’s Anti Terror Police Unit for the training, Mr Kinoti acknowledged the importance of developing the skills of our officers, to respond to modern day security challenges.

The DCI chief further noted that the training couldn’t have come at a better time, since violent extremists have taken advantage of the increasingly globalized world that we live in today, to perpetuate acts of terror.

Meanwhile, the first batch of officers to receive the training shall leave the country in November for Spain, where the training shall be conducted.
