EFFORTS by Deputy President William Ruto to penetrate Kitui County hit a snag after 15 councilors who met him this week were ousted from the county assembly committees.
Kitui County Assembly Speaker George Ndotto slammed the councilors who accompanied former Nairobi deputy governor Jonathan Mueke for meeting Dr Ruto at his official residence on Karen Street, Nairobi.
“We are separating the Kitui County Assembly from the actions of councilors who met with Dr Ruto,” Mr Ndoto said in a statement, adding that the Deputy President would not enter the stronghold of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
