In yet another shocking incident in Meru County, a watchman of a home in Gachanka village was found dead.
The watchman has been identified as Samuel Makunyi. According to Igoki Location Chief Augustino Ringera, the body was discovered barechested outside a door.
“Around 7:00 a.m., Gachanka Assistant Chief Solomon Mutea informed me that he had received a report from one of their family members of the home that their watchman had died. According to family members, the watchman was last seen in good health the night before his death, and he was discovered dead outside a door the next morning “Ringera stated.
Ringera said that pending the autopsy results, he suspected that Makunyi had health issues with his body.
“He had no bruises on his body indicating that he had not been injured prior to his death. A shirt was discovered next to the body, and he may have struggled to undress it due to his health issues,” said Ringera.
According to an eyewitness, Makunyi told him the day before his death at around noon that he wasn’t feeling well and hadn’t felt well in a long time.
“He told me that his sister had accompanied him to a high blood pressure test and that the results showed that it was higher than normal. He said that he was given medicine and asked to return for more after finishing the dose “an eyewitness said.
According to Ringera, the watchman died under mysterious circumstances, and his body remained at the scene awaiting police arrival.
