Eunice Karegi, MCA for Kiagu Ward in Central Imenti, has died, according to Meru County Speaker Kaberia Arimba.
Keregi was one of two women elected to Meru’s county assembly on a Maendeleo Chap Chap party ticket.
“It’s with heavy heart that I inform you that today we lost Hon Eunice Karegi, the MCA for Kiagu Ward .On my behalf and that of the entire County Assembly of Meru fraternity I do convey our sincere condolences to the family members, friends, people of Kiagu ward and entire County Government of Meru. I shall keep you posted on burial preparation and related program. May the Almighty God rest her soul in peace,” Meru County Speaker Kaberia Arimba said on his Facebook account.
While sending his condolences, MCC party leader Alfred Mutua described Karegi as a loyal, sharp, and focused member of the party.
The MCA had been battling stage four cancer and died last night after returning from India for treatment last month.
