After 17 cows, 40 sheep, and goats were stolen, a farmer has appealed to anyone with knowledge to come forward.
The cows went missing from Maili tatu Farm in Buuri after his employee failed to return with them after leaving with them in the morning.
“We had employed a young man from Isiolo-Maili tatu at Ntoangaine’s. Two days earlier, the young man was late with the cattle.
He explained that he returned the cows early because he felt they hadn’t grazed enough and wanted to be able to get up early the next day.
The next day, we prepared the cows early so he could take them to graze, but he never returned. He’s been working for us for two months, and we believe he’s been planning all along. We have reported the theft to the area Chief Kinyua. Kaindigo is the young man’s name.
The total number of cows stolen was 17, with goats and sheep totaling 40. A small number of calves and sheep were left at home. He used to graze at the al farah field with other herders, and they used to go all the way to Maili tano.
The cows have a zero mark around their noses and a sun mark on their thighs. One of the cows is labeled KK, Japhet Muchui told BaiteTV
