Two people have been arrested and are expected to be charged with manslaughter over the death of a six-year-old boy, Aiden Leos, who died in a May shooting on a California highway while his mother was driving him to school, in an alleged incident of a fight between drivers.
The website https://www.aiden-reward.com raised donations for Aiden’s family and offered a $ 500,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the man who shot him.
The suspects were arrested inside their home yesterday Sunday by the California National Highway Traffic Police (CHP) and are expected to be charged with manslaughter, according to a CHP statement posted on Twitter by Orange County Prosecutor Todd Spitzer.powered by Rubicon Project
The CHP named the suspects as 24-year-old Eriz Marcus Anthony and 23-year-old Lee Wayne without elaborating. According to the Orange County Register, their names are Marcus Anthony Eriz and Wayne Lee and they are a couple. The CHP has not yet responded to a request from Reuters for further comment.
“Although these arrests will not alleviate a mother’s grief over this loss, I hope they will bring some peace to the Leos family,” said CHP official Amanda Ray in a statement.
The CHP “will work with Orange County Attorney to bring justice to Aiden,” he added.
