He asked to be killed in order to… pay his son!

Must read

Following the murder of his wife and son, a prominent lawyer asked a former client to kill him so that his second son could collect $ 10 million in life insurance, South Carolina police have revealed.

The martyrdom of Alex Murdou, the son and grandson of prominent state attorneys and prosecutors, began on June 7 when he discovered the lifeless bodies of his 52-year-old wife and 22-year-old son outside a family property in the Island Island community. To date, no arrests have been made for these killings.

The tragedy took on new dimensions on September 4 when the 53-year-old lawyer was attacked on a deserted road and the perpetrator shot him in the head. He was taken to hospital and, unfortunately, survived.

On Monday, Alex Murdou, after being accused of abuse by the law firm where he worked, finally confessed to plotting to assassinate his former client, 61-year-old Curtis Edward Smith. He even explained to the police that he gave him a gun, with the order to aim at his head.

“He admitted that he planned his execution by Smith so that his son could receive about $ 10 million in security,” the court documents say.

In the past, Smith has been supplying him with opioids, Murdow’s lawyer, Dick Harputlian, told NBC. Smith was finally arrested yesterday and prosecuted for assisted suicide, assault and insurance fraud. He also confessed that he was present when the lawyer was shot and that he then got rid of the gun.

The case of double murder

This overthrow, however, does not solve the mystery of the double murder in June. Murdo’s father, grandfather and great-grandfather served as prosecutors for 87 years. Due to the position of the family, many speculations were made about a possible “tolerance” of the forces of order. The local press also recalled that the son who was murdered in June, Paul, had a boat accident in 2019, in which a 19-year-old girl was killed. Paul Murdow was prosecuted for “driving a boat in a state of intoxication that caused the death of the young woman”, but no date was ever set for his trial.

South Carolina Police Chief Mark Kiel called for “patience” from citizens and vowed that the services would conduct “a professional, serious and impartial investigation.”
