Meru County MP Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza asked the following questions to the CS. Education on 18th Nov 2021.

On November 16, Meru County Hon, Bishop Kawira Mwangaza asked the CS for public service, Gender, Senior Citizens Affairs and Special Programmes to Reply to the following questions.

Kawira asked what measures the ministry put in place to ensure that the youth in Meru County access employment opportunities and are economically empowered.

She asked the CS to explain the measures put in place by the ministry to ensure seamless employment transitions in All Government institutions to enable the youth to access and gain employment opportunities.

The National Assembly Proceedings on 6th Oct 2021 were a huge success as pressing issues on TVET institutions were addressed by Meru County MP Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza to the Cabinet Secretary for Education.

“Thank you Hon. speaker, my question is 404/2021 to the Cabinet Secretary for Education. Could the cabinet secretary provide a list of all government-funded technical and vocational education training (TVET) institutions in Meru County?” asked Hon. Kawira.

“What measures has the ministry put in place to ensure that TVET institutions are well equipped with a view of ensuring adequate access to training for youths in Meru County?”

Hon. Kawira asked when will the funds allocated to TVET institutions in Meru County during the 2020/2021 financial year be disbursed to the respective institutions.

On July 6, Meru County M.P Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza asked the following questions to the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection.

  1. What steps is the Ministry taking to ensure that there are gainful and equal employment opportunities for persons living with Disabilities (PWDs)?
  2. Could the Cabinet also provide information from the National Employment Authority on the status of the database on employment opportunities across the country for PWDs, considering that they are in dire need of sources of livelihood, specifically those from Meru County?
  3. Could the Cabinet Secretary provide a list of all registered PWDs in Meru County, showing the nature and category of each disability?
  4. What action(s) has the Ministry undertaken to ensure that regular and periodical updating of the register is carried out for all PWDs across the country, particularly in Meru County, so that they may benefit from the various programmes and facilitations meant to empower, assist and facilitate them in regard to their livelihoods during the Covid-19 pandemic?
  5. Could the Ministry consider providing free assistive equipment and devices to all PWDs across the country, and particularly in Meru County, so that they may live fulfilled lives?
