Kiamakoro Youth Group in Central Imenti in Meru County had their dream realized courtesy of Meru NGAAF Patron Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza after empowering them with Ksh 178,970 which they will use to start an income-generating activity.
Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza said that her office receives Ksh 1M per ward per year. The allocation caters for purchase of desks and chairs for schools, purchase of school uniforms for students, purchase of tents and chairs for communities, purchase of water storage tanks for communities, purchase of clothes for children living with disabilities, purchase of masks, sanitizers and water storage tanks for schools, funding groups, awarding and disbursement of bursaries to educate over 10,000 students, office miscellaneous, fuel, construction of a one of its kind Mwangaza Gender-Based Violence Resource and Rescue Center that Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi’s government is fighting to prevent the President from launching it.
Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza said Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi’s government last visited the Mashinani during the 2017 election campaigns.
She vowed that she wouldn’t be deterred from speaking the truth despite the recent protests organized by Kiraitu Murungi’s government against her.
“Even if they protested by climbing trees and hooping in choppers, I will still demand that Kiraitu Murungi’s government account to the people for the Ksh 250 million per ward per year,” said Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza
“As the patron of the Meru NGAAF, my role is to go to the NGAAF headquarters in Nairobi and inform the officials that there is a group in Meru County that is facing a challenge and requires funding. My responsibility is to write a proposal and submit it to NGAAF.
“If the money I receive as NGAAF patron is divided into Ksh 1000 notes and spread out, it would can be traced to be in circulation within Meru County. If the money allocated to an MCA’s office is spread out and traced, it can be found to be on its way to Nairobi from Meru through Nkubu and Mwea. It then disappears when it reaches the Nairobi-Thika dual carriageway.

“If the money allocated to an MP’s office can be spread out and traced, it can be found to be on its way to Nakuru from Meru through Nairobi. It vanishes when it reaches the Nakuru-Eldoret intersection. If the money allocated to Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi’s government can be spread out and traced, it can be found past Nakuru on its way to Mombasa before crossing over to the United States.
“When I provide funding to a group in Meru County, Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi should support over 500 groups, and the MCA should support over 200 groups. They left me with all the responsibility and hired people to lie on radio stations that they had never seen me or received funding from my office.
“I urge them to get out of their blankets and visit the Mashinani because Meru Kiraitu Murungi’s government has a lot of money. Hon Charity Ngilu, the governor of Kitui County, intends to build houses for thousands of needy families in the county. Hon Alfred Mutua, the governor of Machakos County, has made water available in every home in the county.
“Meru County, on the other hand, has seen no development plans in the four years that Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi’s government has been in power. People are always waiting for me to visit the Mashinani in the hopes of receiving a bursary. My office receives Ksh 3 million per year.
“Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi’s administration claimed in papers that Ksh 145 million was spent each year on student bursaries. Meru County residents want to see the beneficiaries,” she said.
