Kiamuri Kiagu Boda Boda group from Central Imenti in Meru County are the beneficiaries of Meru NGAAF Patron Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza.
The group received Ksh 178,970 to kick start their dream of starting an income-generating activity for its members.
While delivering the cheque, Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza told them that as their elected leader and servant, her role is to source funding from NGAAF and distribute it to groups in Meru County.
She added that a record had been broken since the beginning of time because no leader has ever remembered the children with disabilities after being elected.
“I bought new clothes for over 5,000 children living with disabilities who wore torn clothes. After awarding bursaries to over 10,000 students, I made history. The amount has never been met by the government because bursary allocations through the government are biased.
“When I visit the Mashinani, I ask to see the children from low-income families and single mothers in order to educate them so that they are equal in the eyes of the Lord. Children who have received bursaries of Ksh 10,000 and Ksh 20,000 are those who have never seen or known what a cheque looked like.
“People voted for six elective seats, and you can bear witness if any of them, other than Hon Kawira Mwangaza, have visited the Mashinani to support boda boda groups.
“We voted for the President, the Governor, the Senator, the Member of Parliament, the MCA, and the Women Rep. My office receives the least funding from the national government. As a ward patron, an MCA receives Ksh 20M per year, whereas as the Meru NGAAF patron, I receive Ksh 1M per ward per year and you can all attest.

“Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi began fighting me after I informed the people about the truth about the allocations. When I continued to inform the public that as MPs in the national assembly, we pass a Ksh 10 billion allocation to the Meru County government each year, Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi escalated his fights with me.
“After Meru County government collects council fees in Gakoromone market, shops, etc, the Ksh 10 billion per year is increased to approximately Ksh 12 billion per year. When Ksh 12 billion is divided by Meru County’s nine constituencies or sub-counties, each constituency receives more than Ksh 1 billion.
Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi and his government should account for development totaling Ksh 250 million per year in that ward when Ksh 1 billion is divided by approximately 5 wards in each constituency. I revealed it on live television because I know BaiteTv will broadcast it to the entire world.
“Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi’s administration should account to the people for Ksh 1 billion in development over the last four years. When I ask Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi’s government to account to the people for the Ksh 1 billion per ward developments over the last four years, he hires goons to wave placards, chant, and protest against me.
“I responded by asking them to continue protesting on a daily basis, but they must account to the people. I went to Kiagu Ward today to deliver funds and my question to Kiraitu Murungi’s government is how many times they have visited Kiagu ward to provide funding to the community before hiring goons to stage protests against me.
