Must read

A true story of community empowerment inspired by Meru County Mp Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza.

Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza paid a visit to Ntirimiti village in Meru County and members of the community informed her that a girl named Mercy fell sick and fled home, prompting her father to go in search of her.

“The girl is a young mother with a child, and I propose that Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza builds a house for her because the father is not financially stable so that she be brought back home,” said a member of the community.

The story touched Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza, who promised to build her a house. She informed the residents that the government does not provide her with money to build houses, but she was willing to make a personal sacrifice by reducing her personal expenses such as food and clothing in order to build a house for mercy.

“I’ll build Mercy a house and furnish it with a bed and mattress. I’ll also spend my own money on a basin, clothes, and bedding for her. My team will ensure that the house is built in two days because on a typical day, My Operation Okolea is usually completed in 5 hours. I’ll move her in after the house is completed,” said Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza.

On the day of the launch, Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza was scheduled to pay a visit to the residents of Nkubu and boda boda operators.

Something unusual happened while she was addressing the boda boda operators when she was told that Mercy was waiting for her so she could be taken home.

” I was recently in Ntirimiti, and members of the community informed me that there was a man whose daughter became ill and fled from home.” They asked me to build her a house because she had a child and couldn’t live in the same house as her father. Despite the fact that I hadn’t met Mercy until now, I spent the entire day yesterday at the construction site until her house was finished. I planned to buy a mattress, bedding, and a bed for her today before picking her up and transporting her home. I hadn’t seen or spoken to her in a long time, and I’m not sure how she found me,” said Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza.

Mercy’s sister, who also serves as her guardian, said that they were on their way home when they learned that Hon Bishop Kawira Mwangaza was visiting Nkubu.

Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza assumed her father had already picked her up and taken her home, only to be surprised that fate would bring them together.

Mercy was too sick to stand on her own at the time. Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza empowered a taxi driver with Ksh 3000 to take Mercy home. She also paid for all of her medical bills.

Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza ensured that Mercy received treatment at her own expense by sacrificing herself because the government does not provide her with funds to take people to hospitals. She used a portion of her farming and business proceeds to pay for Mercy’s medical bills.

“I’m a Christian who adores Christ. I am grateful to Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza for building a house for me, furnishing it, and enabling me to start a business. May God bless her and grant her all votes in the general election on August 9, 2022 “said Mercy.

Mercy recovered and moved into her newly built home. Members of the Ntirimiti community were touched by Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza’s efforts to empower Mercy start a business in Ntirimit town center.
