A woman lost her money after a fake pastor conned her in Meru town.
According to an eyewitness, the woman came from the direction of the Museum, carrying her belongings on her head. When she got to the main road, she started screaming and crying.
He said good Samaritans gave her money, but she continued to cry, claiming that her money had been stolen.
According to another eyewitness, genuine pastors in churches pray to their congregation and the prayers work according to God’s will.
“I ask that people be prayed for in church because there are suspects out there who drug innocent victims and rob them of their money,” said an eyewitness.
He said later, victims come to their senses and realize they’ve been robbed, proving that the prayers are false.
“False pastors should be afraid of God because they will reap what they sow,” he said.
He claimed that there are many suspects on the streets of Meru town who steal from unwitting victims after duping them with prayers.
“I’ve seen people fall victim to con men posing as pastors on the streets of Nairobi and Meru. I encourage visitors to Meru County to ask those who wish to pray for them in town to do so in public. Because they do not want to be seen in public, the suspects will not agree,” he said.
He warned imposters that their days were numbered because it is wrong to use scripture to deceive innocent victims.
