The U.S. Air Force said Tuesday it was investigating the circumstances under which human limbs were found on the wheel of one of the C-17 fighter jets that flew from Kabul amid the chaos caused by the Taliban occupation of the city.
The Air Force said in a statement that the plane landed at Kabul airport yesterday, Monday, and was surrounded by hundreds of Afghans.

“In the face of a rapidly deteriorating security situation around the aircraft, the C-17 crew decided to depart the aircraft as soon as possible,” the statement said.
