A man from Kabaune-Igembe was arrested for abandoning his wife and child. The wife told BaiteTv that her husband threatened to beat her after a heated argument over accepting 500Ksh to bury another child.
She fled and sought refuge with her brothers, leaving the child with the father, only to return later to discover the child was sick.
Their misunderstanding began when the man accepted 500Ksh to bury another child, which is against Meru tradition. The tradition forbids any man from burying a small child.
