A three-year-old girl died in Libya when her father forced her to sit in a bathtub full of boiling water for more than an hour because she had diarrhea.
Her father was outraged and decided to punish her in this way. The girl was taken to hospital but died from burns that had formed all over her body.
Her father allegedly first hit her with a rope, then forced her into the bathtub and locked her in the room for a long time, according to the Criminal Investigation Department.
He later contacted relatives to take her to the hospital, claiming that the child was injured while walking in the kitchen and hot water fell on her.
Authorities also have evidence that the father was a drug addict. It is not clear if mom was involved or wondered about the incident. Both parents have been taken to the prosecutor’s office, but it is unknown at this time what they will do after leaving the post.
