In the recently ended Muguga ward by-election, Joseph Githinji of the Jubilee party became victorious.
Githinji received 4,089 votes, edging out UDA’s Thumbi Kamau, who received 4,062 votes.
Thumbi Githinji of the ruling Jubilee Party, Peter Njoroge of the PPK, and Mumbi Moses Gicharu of the Thirdway Alliance contested the election.

During the voting on Thursday, July 15, Githinji displayed confidence in his ability to succeed the late MCA Eliud Ngugi.
Githinji told the reporters earlier in the day that he was prepared for the outcome of Muguga residents’ decision.
“If I win the seat, I will be happy; if not, I will accept defeat,” Githinji said.
