Meru County Aspirant Governor Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza has said that she intends to establish a state-of-the-art factory in each sub-county to manufacture school uniforms.
Speaking at Miruriri Primary School, where she donated a 10,000-liter water tank and gumboots, Kawira said that each sub-county will have a factory that will manufacture school uniforms because God will provide her with the leadership that has abundant resources. She said that the days of students attending school in ripped-up school uniforms are coming to an end.
“Despite the fact that my office has a limited capacity, I have dressed over 6,000 students in school uniforms. If I am elected Governor of Meru, no child will attend school in ripped-up school uniforms. The first project I intend to launch is the construction of a state-of-the-art factory that will manufacture school uniforms for students,” Kawira said.
Kawira said she had visited over 250 schools to deliver water tanks, uniforms, lockers, tents, and shoes, as well as many other development projects such as educating children who couldn’t afford school fees.
According to Kawira, students should not be concerned about their future after completing their primary school education because she will ensure that they are all enrolled in secondary schools.
“I am not kidding when I say that all students will be enrolled in secondary schools because the office that Kawira Mwangaza will be elected into as Meru Governor on August 9, 2022, will give her the capacity to fulfill her promise because the Meru county government has a lot of money,” she said.
She said that there will be a 100% transition from primary to secondary schools and that no student will drop out to seek employment before finishing secondary school because the Meru County government has a lot of money.
According to Kawira, she learned that Miruriri primary school students experienced acute water shortage and that is why she decided to donate the largest water tank available to the school.
“I donated a water tank to the students in order to alleviate the problem of water shortage. I personally paid them a visit so we could pray together and let them know that Kawira Mwangaza loves them even if no one else does. I urge the class 8 candidates to work hard because we want the school to have a high mean score this time around,” she said.
“A good score will make parents and the community proud of the school. Being disciplined, as well as to their parents and teachers, is another factor that helps students perform well in school. When students begin to have negative attitudes toward their teachers, they are on the verge of failing,” she said.
“I encourage students to become friends with their teachers and to continue to ask them questions. I implore them to remain close to them in order for them to succeed,” she said.
Kawira said that when she becomes Governo, she will make certain that no child goes to school hungry because there will be enough money to feed every student.
“I recommend that class 8 students arrive an hour before their official reporting time. There is a lot of competition, and we want them to have enough time to study. Every one of them will receive a pair of gumboots because they will be walking in the dark and to keep them from stepping on snakes and thorns, being hit by rocks, and having cracks on their feet,” she said.
MKawira said that her office currently has a limited capacity and she was unable to purchase a pair of gumboots for every student in the school. She said that when she becomes Governor, she will make certain that every student receives a pair of gumboots.
