As the August 9th, 2022 General Election approaches, leadership and politics continue to take different paths. Leaders have begun to organize themselves as they prepare to run for various political seats in Meru County.
Kawira Mwangaza, Kiraitu Murungi, and Peter Munya are the contenders for the Meru County gubernatorial election. Following Kiraitu Murungi and Peter Munya’s decision to unite and back ODM party leader Raila Odinga’s presidential quest, a new political twist has emerged amongst the three contenders.
“I’m confident that when Raila takes over the next government, we’ll be ahead, with Munya by his side,” said Munya.
“Raila is a youthful leader who has pledged to look for a Miraa market,” Kiraitu said.
Now that Peter Munya and Kiraitu Murungi have joined Raila Odinga’s ODM party, another looming much-debated political alliance is that of William Ruto and Kawira Mwangaza. Most people are wondering if Kawira Mwangaza will unite with William Ruto of the United Democratic Party.
Munya and Kiraitu are having nightmares about the much-debated political alliance between Kawira Mwangaza and William Ruto. If Kawira Mwangaza joins forces with William Ruto, Meru County will be divided into two political camps.
Kiraitu Murungi, Peter Munya, Raila Odinga, and ODM party will be on one camp. William Ruto, Kawira Mwangaza and UDA will be the other camp. On her social media page, Kawira Mwangaza announced that she will make a statement about her political path ahead of the 2022 general elections.
“Are you aware that prayers take precedence over all other considerations? Are you aware that when we pray, no one understands what is going on in Meru County except those who are filled with the Holy Spirit?,” Hon Bishop Kawira Mwangaza said.
“Only those who speak in tongues can comprehend what you are witnessing in Meru County; otherwise, people are unable to comprehend. People had already formed and aligned themselves in groups at a time like now, during the 2017 general election campaigns,” she said.
According to Kawira, some went by the name Kikali, while others were already politically aligned. She said however, they have been unable to organize themselves due to a lack of prayers.
“They will not organize themselves anytime soon, and we will be the ones to point them in the right direction. We will show them the path to Christ that will benefit the Meru child. Politics in Meru County was intense at a time like this, during the 2017 general election campaigns,” she said.
She said that there were various campaigns, such as choppers and branded T-shirts. She said that at the moment, however, she has dismembered satanic politics with prayers.
“We have stated that we need to be given a chance so that children who have never had the opportunity to pursue an education can do so. We want to be given a chance so that a self-help group that has never received funding can receive it,” she said.
Kawira said that she wants to be given a chance so that Meru County can advance economically and in terms of development.
“Because we are currently involved in a lot of political debates, the students will not receive the KSh 10,000 school bursary cheque that they would have received. We must continue to pray for Meru County in order for God to have mercy on us. I recently gave clothes to children who were wearing ripped sieve-like shirts,” she said.
Kawira said that Kiraitu was going around Meru County talking about parties when a Meru child was dressed in ripped sieve-like T-shirts in the cold weather.
“Kiraitu launched a book that insults others, someone else is plotting Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza’s assassination and someone else is plotting how Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza will not hold meetings so she can help people,” she said.
Kawira said that Meru County residents should get out of demonic, satanic, and foolish plans and look at where God was leading them because it was where they were heading.
“And I Kawira said that this man who wrote a book and insulted me on several pages, called me a dog, called me a bishop for the poor, and insulted me alongside the church, I leave him to God’s wrath,” she said.
According to Kawira, the court that she will be taking Kiraitu will be in heaven and it does not joke on the verdict.
