Joy Nkatha Kagwiria, the eighth best student in the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, aspires to be a doctor.
Joy from Chogoria Girls Primary School in Meru County scored 429 marks, placing her eighth out of over 1.1 million candidates who took the exam.
Joy expressed her desire to join the Kenya High School for secondary school in an interview with BAITETV.
She attributed her success to God and the support of teachers and parents.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank God for such a high score. It was not something I expected, but it was His Will. I’d also like to thank my teachers, who were extremely helpful. I am grateful to my parents for their assistance, particularly in purchasing textbooks. I’d like to join the Kenya High School,” she said
Mwangi Margaret Waruguru and Bernice Checed Omondi tied for eighth place with 429 marks.
