Nigeria’s army chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Atahirou, was killed in a plane crash on Friday, three army sources told Reuters.
According to the air force, the plane on which Atahir was on board crashed near the airport of the city of Cantuna. The causes of the crash are being investigated.
