Man Caught With A Teenage Girl After Suspicious Complaint Reported

A man was arrested when police responding to a suspicious complaint busted him with a 14-year-old girl in his house in Nkanda village in Meru County.

“I received a report from my sub-area this morning about a suspect who was caught sleeping with a Nkanda secondary form one student. As I called the police from Kieni Kia Itama, I asked him to make sure the suspect’s house remained locked,” said the Antuambui location senior assistant chief Gerald Kithia.

Gerald said he accompanied the cops as they apprehended the suspect. he said the suspect would face charges of defiling teh 14-year-old girl.

“Previously, a large number of Kieni Kia Itama schoolgirls became pregnant. The D.C., who was furious, summoned me and demanded to know why the community was morally reprehensible. I organized several meetings with members of the community and warned them that any suspect caught with a defilement case would be prosecuted, ” said Gerald.

Gerald warned men to avoid relationships with adolescent girls under the age of 18.

“A suspect in a defilement case with a girl aged 16 to 18 years is expected to serve a 20-year prison sentence, according to the law. The suspect in a defilement case involving teenage girls aged 14 to 16 years is sentenced to 15 years in prison, and the suspect in a defilement case involving teenage girls under the age of 12 years is sentenced to life in prison,” said Gerald.

According to the Morris, the suspect, the victim’s father consulted him in every difficult situation he encountered. He said that when he needed money, he would borrow him.

“I am Mithika’s family friend, and we have a close relationship similar to that of a sister and brother. When he beats her children and they flee, I’m the one he summons to go find them and bring them home. Whenever one of his children becomes ill, he always asks me to take them to the hospital,” said Morris.

“We live together as a family and are very close. My arrest has been organized because her my father purchased land from Ncooro, Mithika’s brother, who reclaimed it later. We took followed with the case and are in the process of repossessing the land. Even if their family oppresses us, there can be no enmity between Mithika’s children and I,” said Morris.

“Mithika’s children, friends, and close relatives still come to me, and we haven’t stopped talking. She had come to my house to visit after staying at her parents’ house for a while. We were having a conversation before I was arrested and taken into custody,” said Morris.

The 14-year-old victim said that she had spent a week at Morris’s house. She said that Morris paid for her transportation to his house and that her parents had been informed.

“When he came to visit my parents, he would bring groceries and we would cook together. My father once asked for tea leaves, and he brought them to me,” said the victim.

Mithika, the victim’s father claimed that h only saw the suspect once when he walked past his house.

“My daughter has been missing from school for more than a week. I looked everywhere for her before finally finding her in the suspect’s home. I immediately called the cops, who apprehended him and took him into custody,” said Mithika.

The man is currently lodged in custody where he is awaiting arraignment on criminal sexual conduct charges.
