A man died in Kariene ka Moi village in Meru County after a tree he was cutting down fell on him, according to eyewitnesses.
Residents were called to the scene after receiving a call from eyewitnesses that a tree fell on a man. Residents found the man dead.

“The victim, who has been publicly identified as Munene, a well-known tree cutter, was hit while cutting down a tree. He was standing on the ground at the time of the accident, and the tree bounced back after hitting another tree while being pulled in the opposite direction by a rope,” said an eyewitness.
