As suicide cases continue to escalate especially among couples who have tarnished their marriage or romance, a man is being detained by Nakuru police after killing his wife before attempting to commit suicide by jumping from the fourth floor.
Paul Ochieng, who works for a steam-powered company, is accused of stabbing his 25-year-old wife to death following a domestic dispute.
The tenants of Nakuru Stadium Flats who were cut off from their preparations for the lunch and the tragedy of yesterday were left speechless when they came across the body of a neighbor who was stabbed to death and died instantly.
Fearing a public outcry over his brutality, Ochieng threw himself on the edge of their room and threw himself on the ground, intending to commit suicide.
However, the test hit rock bottom as he suffered serious injuries to his legs. Stunned neighbors reported the matter to the police through the Bondeni station communications room, where police officers, including the Nakuru police commander, arrived at the scene quickly.
Reports of the tragedy were recorded while the knife used in the murder was kept for use as evidence, after the surviving suspect was brought to court.
The suspect is currently being treated at PGH Nakuru Hospital in police custody awaiting trial on a murder charge as well as attempted suicide, with the body of his accomplice being kept at Jack’s hospital premises before undergoing surgery.
