A 38-year-old man is lucky to be alive after he survived an attack by armed assailants last night.
According to DCI, James Chomba was walking home at around 11:30pm when was accosted by two gun toting thugs outside Rongera apartments in Kinoo, Kiambu County.
“The thugs ordered him to lie down but Chomba defied the orders, opting to run for dear life. Outfoxed, one of the thugs opened fire and shot him, the bullet head entering the chest through the left side and exiting on the right,” said DCI.
“But an unbowed Chomba sprinted to his house faster than the current African 100-metres record holder and Kenya’s sensation Ferdinand Omanyala, missing other shots by a whisker,” said DCI.
As the thugs staged their cowardly escape, the area chief who got wind of the attack immediately called our officers based at Kikuyu Police Station, who rushed to the scene.
The victim who was bleeding profusely from the gunshot wounds, was rushed to the M.P Shah hospital for treatment. Luckily, after doctors at the facility conducted various tests, it was established that Chomba was out of danger since the bullet head had not touched any vital internal organs.
Chomba is thanking God for the miracle of being alive today, after the dreadful encounter with the two miscreants. He is currently admitted at the hospital in fair condition.
“Meanwhile, while we wish the victim quick recovery, detectives are in hot pursuit of the two suspects after obtaining crucial leads on their whereabouts,” said DCI
