Police in Kiambu County are investigating an incident where a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer is reported to have attacked and injured seven of his family members following a domestic dispute.
The officer is reported to have arrived at their home in Ikinu area on Sunday and was informed by his father about a confrontation that had ensued earlier.
The father is said to have informed the son that his aunt confronted him for digging a trench to carry animal waste that passed through her piece of land without her permission.
Confirming the incident, Githunguri Deputy OCPD Patrick Kipkoros said the KDF officer picked a club and went ahead to beat up his aunt who was in a disagreement with his father.
Other family members including a nine-year-old girl were injured in the process as they intervened to stop the fight between the KDF officer and the aunt.
The injured were treated at the Kiambu County hospital and have since been discharged.
A manhunt is underway for the officer who escaped after the incident.
Meanwhile, the family has expressed fear that the man could return and cause more chaos.
